Frequently Asked Questions
How long does my horse need to stay?
Length of stay is always dependant upon the issue the horse is facing. Conditioning is always beneficial and the longer the horse can stay, the more it will benefit and perform - usually three months is enough time to get a horse in top performance shape. Treatment for injury depends on the severity and the stage in which we receive the horse. Bringing a horse immediately after the injury in the acute phase will generally take a shorter time to heal. Our prices decrease the longer the horse stays.
Do you have a Veterinarian at your facility?
We use Board Certified surgeon Dr.Graham Keys of Burwash Equine Services to help diagnose lameness issues and address any other concerns our clients have.
How can I tell if my horse is lame?
If there is no obvious injury or lameness showing, but your equine athlete is showing behavioural changes there may be a lameness issue. Bucking, rearing, pulling back, refusing to do the job it once excelled at are all signs your horse is experiencing pain. Our water treadmill is clear and allows us to see if there are any imbalances in your horse's gait while travelling and our experts at saddle fitting, chiropractics and hoof care can also make this determination.
